Vrinx
From Hayven Celestia

The vrinx are in development by Jerry Bowman. As of 2026, the race has not been featured nor mentioned in any projects.
Physical
Vrinx stand bipedal with an average height of 1.35m. The paws and feet are webbed, and the tails are flat. They can live up to 130 years. While their physiology allows them to be natural swimmers, they are semi-aquatic. The do not need to be constantly wet.
Their incisors are large and chisel shaped (with a protective enamel coating), and grow throughout their lives. The vrinx are in habit of gnawing on hard objects to trim them.
Writing for Vrinx
When writing for vrinx, please keep the following facts in mind.
Endangered
- Their current census in the known galaxy does not exceed more than 500, and nearly all are living within the Krakun Empire as house slaves.
- Their home world is no longer habitable.
- The race did not make contact with any other species prior to their subjugation by the krakun.
- Any vrinx living outside of the Krakun Empire now are likely refugees, and in extremely low numbers.
Temperature Preferences
- Vrinx evolved from an arctic world, and thus are required to live in cold environment.
- A vrinx out in a temperate environment for twenty-minutes is at risk of overheating.
- Cooling gel pads or cooling collars are essential if a vrinx needs to be out in a warm environment for an extensive period of time.
- Due to the decline in population, nearly all accessories made specifically for vrinx are no longer being produced within the Krakun Empire.
Culture
- Vrinx are natural structural engineers.
- This has posed an annoyance to most krakun contractors, as vrinx will outright refuse to work on a project if it is not up to their own code.
- This has prompted a "recall" of the species from most areas. This recall has discouraged any krakun from forming breeding colonies for vrinx.
- This has posed an annoyance to most krakun contractors, as vrinx will outright refuse to work on a project if it is not up to their own code.
- Vrinx particularly disapprove on the practice of hoarding more than what is needed, whether it be wealth, resources, luxury items, or any other life essentials.
