The ursar is a sapient "bear" species native to Ursartec.
* Created by Fenrir Black
* Old ursar proverb "Fighting can solve anything."

Anatomy
* Their appearance is Ursidae with the male being more bulky while females are more slender. They have no claws on their paws but do have claws on their feet. Each paw has four fingers and their feet five toes.
* Avg Height 2.3 - 2.8 meters
* Fur colors vary from shades of browns, black, white, and rare red coats.
* No tails
* Large round ears.
* Enhanced sense of smell and taste. Use their long tongues to remove sap from trees. Their dense bones are nearly unbreakable but limits their flexibility.
* Powerful jaws allow them to devour any type of prey as well as crush rocks. This has led to the evolution of Ursar seeking out rare minerals or ingredients found without stones such as special salts for cooking.
* Natural swimmers with large lungs that can hold their breath for up to five-ten minutes.
Communication
Vocal
* Language: Uradine

Culture
* Do to the lack of claws, Ursar survived from an early age using tools and weapons. Over time the mechanics led to a revolution where smiths would create complex machines and weapons used for combat and hunting.
* Some forward thinking villages on Ursartec have begun to use agriculture as a means of obtaining food but most Ursar believe in a proper hunter and gathering system. Ursar frown on those who simply grow their own food or raise animals for meat.
* Tradition is highly regarded by the Ursar as well as loyalty. The greatest shame that can befall an Ursar is to be exiled from their tribe.
* The tribe or village leader is usually chosen by an act of combat which varies from a death match to simply until one ursar is knocked out. This combat rituals usually take place during certain times of the year such as under a full moon or a blood moon. A tribe leader can only be removed from his or her position by death either by combat or other.
* The Lio Advent changed much of the Ursar culture creating new dynamics and different means of choosing leaders and keeping order but many tribes still choose to hold on to the old ways while others have adapted the traditional ursar practices to fit with the new dynamic.
* Combat is seen as the most noble activity among the ursar. Many see hand to hand combat as the true ursar way but over time weapons have been slowly introduced to enhance the experience but has led to more gruesome bouts.
* Because of the dense bones, ursar are trained to learn where the joints and weak spots are of not only other ursar but of all creatures. During bouts they will target this spots which has led to a special combat style called Kado where a ursar is trained to target and defend these spots.
* Strength, speed, and ability are the most highly regarded traits in the ursar culture regardless of gender.
* Sex is seen a sacred act and ursar will grow fur to cover their private areas. It is only when a ursar chooses a mate that they may trim the fur and begin to have sex with their mate. This is seen as a celebrated milestone in a couple's relationship and ursar will sometimes be praised for beginning the act. There are those who choose to have sex indiscriminately which is seen as crude and barbaric. Sometimes ursar will hide for weeks after having indiscriminate sex until their fur grows back before returning to the public eye.

History
* The ursar history is full of long civil wars between tribes that can be found throughout their history. The worse one ever recorded was between the Aertas tribe and the Scorati tribe during the beginning of the first Smith Revolution. Several tribes chose sides leading to mass deaths across the continent. The Aertas tribe loss when their deposits of metal ran out and they could no longer make new weapons.
* The first Smith Revolution was followed by two more technological revolutions called the Bronze Revolution followed by the Black Days where a new metal was discovered that allowed magnetic properties to be introduced.
The Lio Advent
* The ursar were the first race outside the krakun's control the lio were able to form an alliance with. The lio ship to discover Ursartec was known as the Vermillion Spear. The captain of the ship, Kara, fought and defeated the leader of the Langesti tribe earning the respect of the ursar. It was years later that more fleets of lio began to visit ursar which ignited small outbreaks of violence among the tribes. It was after many years that the leaders of over 100 tribes came together with the lio and established a unified system of government for the planet. From that day the ursar were the lio's allies under the condition that the ursar would not participate in the war with the krakun and instead expect the lio's protection and advance technology. Most ursar resolved to remain on Ursartec while only exiles and the curious will leave the planet for a new home among the stars.

Habitat
* Before the Lio Advent, the ursar would form houses of sticks, animal skins, and clay which over time became more elaborate with each technological revolution.
* After the Lio Advent, larger cities emerged mainly comprised of lio but over time more ursar began to move outside of the small wilderness villages into homes filled with lio technology and architecture.

Diet
*Ursar are omnivores. Their diet is mostly made of fish and fruits that found in each tribes territory. Hunting animals is seen more as a sport than a necessity.

Lifespan
*Adolescence — 13 KY
*Avg Death Age — BL: 35 KY LA: 75 KY
Language
Gert describes the language spoken by the pirates in Final Days Book 1 as "ringelese standard".

The normal word order is Verb Subject Object (VSO). Questions will change the word order, as the topic in question (or any query words) will immediately come to the front of the sentence, leaving a gap (or referential pronoun if the question is long enough) where it would have gone in a declarative statement.

Standard construction of speech parts:

[main verb][auxiliary verb][adverb]

[ordinal number, amount or measure][noun][other adjective][adverb]

::- Formal greeting, imperative verb, like salutations or informally attention. Ringel don't typically distinguish between a formal gesture and an informal one.
::- Captain of a ship.
::- Second, ordinal form. Number adjectives precede the noun.
:* dohuo
::- Flower, genitive case (of the flower)
:* chyo
::- White, adjective in genitive case agreeing with preceding noun. Most adjectives come after the noun.
::- Have, possess. 3rd person singular.
:* audei
::- Auxiliary verb similar to "does" (yes, even though in English 'have' is the auxiliary verb, that's not the case here), used to modify the tense/mode of verbs. The particular person is not specifically inflected in the verb/auxiliary but can be omitted anyhow.
Each night they reside in the palace upon the stars where the souls of the dead reside awaiting to ride alongside him.
*Kyndell is a god in the form of an aquatic monster that once did battle with Revoake only to lose and be banished to the deepest parts of the ocean. The legend says that Kyndell's final act was trying to drag Revoake with him but Revoake cut off his own tail to escape.
*After death, a Haske will either be burned so their soul can rise into the sky to reside with Revoake or be sunk to the bottom of the ocean to forever belong to Kyndell.

Habitat
Due to the limited livable space on Hasketec, 99% of the population resides in the equator of the planet. Most villages and towns are found in "hotspots" where the underground magma warms the land year round.

Diet
*Haske are carnivores. Their diet is mostly made of birds that are raised or animals that are hunted in the frozen wilds. Fishing is custom in coastal areas as well as ice fishing in the more northern territories.
*Sweet fruits are a delicacy added to drinks such as tea & water.

Lifespan
*Adolescence — 17 KY
*Avg Death Age — 60 KY

Coosa Culture
Coosa have a high regard for nature, trees especially, and before the arrival of the krakun, much of Coosatec was still untouched despite the presence of coosa civilization. Many coosa live in arboreal villages, others live in cliff-like citadels of stone, though the use and impact on nature was always considered to be a high priority (as coosa prefer trees to open plains to begin with). Even after the advent of krakun technology there is still a high preference to employ natural energy and clockwork machinery (to the annoyance of their krakun overlords, as it is hard to insert spyware into such devices). With this in mind it is common for coosa to have names in some way based around nature.

The oral history passed down by midwives among the coosa was that the thickness of one’s mask determines the longevity of one’s life. Some even believe the larger or darker colored the mask the more energy of life force in general a coosa may have.

Coosa in general tend to be quite jovial, enjoying dancing, singing, and sharing in experiences with others.

Traditional Farewells
The coosa are known to have traditional farewells. A coosa will clasp their paw around the forearm of another, offering them a farewell based on what they wish that person to have happen. These are often nature based in some way. Several examples include:

* "May a breeze of fortune sway you."
* "May a babbling brook spark joy within you.”
* "May bending branches offer you fine rest.”
* “May the shining stars guide you through any troubles.”
* "May foraging cross our paths once more."

These do not necessarily have to be positive however, if a coosa is angry they may use a farewell far more ominous like 'May sharp stones litter your path' but this is highly unorthodox if almost unheard of at all. Coosa will usually only use these farewells with others of their kind.

Barre Ball
Barre Ball was originally a traditional sport for children played on Coosatec. A ball would be bounced along trees until it could make its way through chosen forks in branches to score points. These games would take place in random forested areas making the trees to bounce off change each time.

Modern day Barre Ball is more standardized. It has formations similar to a hockey rink. Posts replace the trees of the traditional game, but are named after several found on the planet. At the end of each court stands two poles called The Fork. A ball must bounce before entering the fork to count for a point. Located diagonally from the goal on each end of the court are The Willows. The center post is called The Pine.

Teams consist of six players each, one center, two wings, two defense, and one goalie. Games are played to ten points. Each team dips the tip of their tails in dye to distinguish teams. The dyes colored blue, red, green, and white, represent the north, south, east, and west respectively. Barre Ball is a popular diversion on Worlds Defense Fleet ships as there is little other recreation available.

Coosa As Pilots
Coosa are highly physically resistant, not through toughness but through body flexibility. Organs and even bones are more liable to give way and squash out of shape on blunt impact rather than break or shatter. This lends to their arboreal nature as they're much more comfortable around heights that would kill other creatures.

Their increased resistance to G Forces makes for them to be excellent pilots. The Worlds Defense Fleet has maintained large stores of coosa to use on anti-insurgency attack ships for the purpose of fighting off Lio forces. If a coosa attempts to escape or change sides, their ship self destructs killing them instantly.
Language
Anupese is a tonal language. The actual inflections of the tones are not depicted in text.
The language is also highly laconic. Lots of parts of speech are elided if they are understood from context. There are no articles, referential pronouns are frequently dropped, and entire parts of a sentence can be omitted so long as one word can convey the meaning.
* “Nichi ba so dek!” Eendie continued arguing with Gihdah in the barracks.
:- "I swear (something struck me)"
* “Mai so ko rai du?” The other rasped in an exasperated tone.
:- "Don't tell me you're seeing things too."
* “E se dei e ai da!” the one nearest him stammered, more than usual, so completely taken by surprise that he gestured with an empty paw. “Nensuk aredia a cho men!”
:- "My absolute and deepest apologies!" "My lord, I had no intention of disturbing you!"
* “Isedo e!” She spoke harshly, her other arm wrapping around Gert’s neck just as quickly, pinning his back to her chest.
:- "You aren't getting away!"
* “Seh . . . Go deh seh!” He shouted as he fell to his knees.
A polatosha is a sapient "flying squirrel" species native to Txinxlurra.

Origins of the name
* Created by J. N. Squire.
* "polatosha" is inspired from the French word polatouche. It's a name used for 3 species of flying squirrels.

Anatomy
* Both alien species share the common trait of a special bone structure that make them lighter but less likely to break something after a fall or a bad landing (specific molecular structure, possibly some carbonXcalcium strong polymer?).
* Adults are usually at least 2 meters tall. Their body structure is made to be aerodynamic. No size difference between male and female.
* Have glide-glaps that allow them to glide from trees to trees.
* Very varied fur colors (red, brown, fulvous, cream, tan, copper, black, sometimes natural blue bellyfur to blend with the sky, etc.)
* Long ear tufts (like European squirrels).

Communication
Vocal
* Can speak multiple languages.
* Speak at least Siuri, a language also spoken by their twin sapient species, the katakori.
Technological
* Tooth-carved sticks.

Ecology
Habitat
Polatosha are particularily adapted to forested lands. Their fur is adapated from temperate (poles) to warm (lower latitudes) temperatures from their homeworld.

Diet
Polatosha are omnivorous. Their diet is mostly made of vegetables like fruits and nuts. For animal protein intakes, they can also eat eggs and small water animals.

Demography
Most of the polatosha inhabits the Unity. They share their homeworld with the katakori, the other sapient species originating from the planet.
anup
* Tall (~3m) canid race with long ears and uniformly short, dark fur.
* Breathes bromide compounds. Can have skin contact with oxygen-nitrogen environments without issue.
* Culture
** Find it very impolite (overly intimate) to use hands in direct reference to others, including touching, pointing, or making gestures. Instead, they use rods for such actions.
** Anup rods are plated with a highly conductive gold alloy and are heavily personalized; since the computer age they encode their rods with a digital signature in lieu of using a handprint or other method of identification.

coosa
* Strands
** Communicators/computer terminals/wallets worn in a holster on the left bicep (typically).
** The geroo call their communicators strands because the connectedness they feel "weaves the people into a tapestry."
** When sitting down with friends, geroo consider it polite to remove their strands and set them face down on the table to indicate "you have my full attention."
* Currency - Credits (written ₢5 to indicate five credits) are stored electronically on their strands. Geroo transfer money from one strand to another by tapping them together.

The hekiru race are small vulpine nomads created by Phox Sillanpaa.

Physical
Hekiru are a bipedal race. They are short compared to most other sentient races, averaging from 1.2 meters in height to 1.5 at the most. They are naturally built lithe, but laziness and poor diet could produce a relatively round hekiru. They generally weigh 35kg. As a race, their coats are mainly earthy colors. Common colors are tan, light brown, brown, and cream. Black and white hekiru are possible but considered extreme rarities. They have vulpine snouts with a bat-like nose. Hekiru have large, expressive ears. The hekiru have five fingers on each paw and five toes on each footpaw. Hekiru have bobtails for the most part, except on the rare occasion when a kit is born with medium-length very fluffy tail. General practice is to dock the tail to facilitate maintaining a lower profile.

Hekiru are well adapted to dark situations and will suffer in bright light. The entirety of their eyes (pupil, iris, and sclera) are matte black and have a layer that hides any reflection from nearby light sources. They have a pair of acoustic and sensory tendrils at the base of each ear that are used to detect differences in chemical levels to the hekiru's right or left, painting them a more clear picture on which direction they should move to avoid danger.

With the help of their large ears, hekiru can use echolocation to identify potential threats or obstacles nearby.

Home World
Hekirutec - The hekiru are the only sentient race to come from Hekirutec, though as a species they never controlled the planet. Hekirutec is home to a large variety of vicious carnivores, with most being about half the size of a krakun. The world is generally jungle but has regions of grassland and desert that are largely uninhabited by anything but small reptiles and large arachnids. Hekirutec caught krakun attention for it's very similar atmosphere to Krakuntec Prime. The Hekiru were not initially discovered for many weeks following the planetary surveys.

The day/night cycle on Hekirutec is the equivalent of about 180 days on Krakuntec Prime.

Language
Hekiru language is composed almost entirely of sign. Words can be modified using some chirps or chitters, but typically any noise at all is avoided. The species can emit a high pitched screech to get the attention of other nearby hekiru, far above the hearing spectrum of the larger predators on the planet. Hekiru are capable of learning to speak, but will always choose to sign unless instructed otherwise, and even then, it's a hard habit to break.

Society
Hekiru had centralized governments, though never truly united as a species. They established a democracy founded upon territorial affiliation, despite their nomadic nature within that territory. Only influential, local, hekiru could run for office. Often the same hekiru could hold down a position until death, which seemed inevitable at the jaws of some predator, anyway. Familial bonds among the hekiru are weak. As an individual, a hekiru chooses their own families, often bonding with whatever creature is nearest to them.

Life Cycle
Kits grow up quickly, only spending five years of their lives dependant on their parents. At five years of age, they are considered adults and will choose their own packs and range the territory they are born within. Adulthood is considered to be roughly one hundred and forty-five years. The average hekiru lifespan is one hundred and sixty. Hekiru don't appear to age until they are within the last five to ten years of their lives. Then they age very quickly.

Servitude
Krakun do not consider hekiru to be good slaves, due to their smaller size and unwillingness to communicate with other creatures they are forced to work alongside. It is more fashionable to carry a hekiru in a cage as a good luck charm. Hekiru have also been used as interactive krakun hat decorations for overly up-scale events. Hekiru are especially prone to bonding with their krakun owners, as that krakun is the most important aspect of the hekiru's survival. Whether a hekiru cares for the well-being of other krakun captives is specific to the hekiru.

Origins of the name
* Created by J. N. Squire.
* katakori" is inspired from the French word polatouche. It's a name used for 3 species of flying squirrels.

Anatomy
* Both alien species share the common trait of an special bone structure that make them lighter but less likely to break something after a fall or a bad landing (specific molecular structure, possibly some carbonXcalcium strong polymer?).
* Taller and slender than geroo, but smaller than anub. Around sourang-like height?
* Have glide-glaps that allow them to glide from trees to trees.
* Very varied fur colors (red, brown, fulvous, cream, tan, copper, black, etc.)

Communication
Vocal
* Can speak multiple languages.
* Speak at least Siuri, a language alsospoken by their twin sapient species, the katakori.

Ecology
