The vrinx are in development by Jerry Bowman. As of 2026, the race has not been featured nor mentioned in any projects.

Although the creator is currently not in Goataroo, they're still actively developing this species for Hayven Celestia.

Physical
Vrinx stand bipedal with an average height of 1.35m. The paws and feet are webbed, and the tails are flat. They can live up to 130 years. While their physiology allows them to be natural swimmers, they are semi-aquatic. The do not need to be constantly wet.

Their incisors are large and chisel shaped (with a protective enamel coating), and grow throughout their lives. The vrinx are in habit of gnawing on hard objects to trim them.

Writing for Vrinx
When writing for vrinx, please keep the following facts in mind.

Endangered
* Their current census in the known galaxy does not exceed more than 500, with the remaining population spread thin primarily across the Krakun Empire. All of which are likely living as house slaves.
* Their home world is no longer habitable.
* The race did not make contact with any other species prior to their subjugation by the krakun.
** Any vrinx living outside of the Krakun Empire now are likely refugees, and in low numbers far too negligible to be useful for re-population.

Temperature Preferences
* Vrinx evolved from an arctic world, and thus are required to live in cold environment.
* A vrinx out in a temperate environment for twenty-minutes is at risk of overheating.
* Cooling gel pads or cooling collars are essential if a vrinx needs to be out in a warm environment for an extensive period of time.
** Due to the decline in population, nearly all accessories made specifically for vrinx are no longer being produced within the Krakun Empire.

Culture
* Vrinx are natural structural engineers.
** This has posed an annoyance to most krakun contractors, as vrinx will outright refuse to work on a project if it is not up to their own code.
*** This has prompted a "recall" of the species from most areas. This recall has discouraged any krakun from forming breeding colonies for vrinx.
* Vrinx particularly disapprove on the practice of hoarding more than what is needed, whether it be wealth, resources, luxury items, or any other life essentials.
** This is more aimed at individuals that hoard for themselves. Stockpiles reserved strictly for the benefit of a community is acceptable.

There are many sentient races in the Hayven Celestia universe. With only a few exceptions, most planets that support intelligent life only bring about one form of it, and so unless noted each race has exactly one native homeworld. While intelligent life is relatively rare, the galaxy is a very big place and has been explored for a very long time and so possesses an abundance of examples.
Canon Species
Species which have appeared in published works

Anup
* Tall (~3m) canid race with long ears and uniformly short, dark fur.
* Bromine atmosphere
* Find it very impolite (overly intimate) to use hands in direct reference to others, including touching, pointing, or making gestures. Instead, they use rods for such actions.
* Anup rods are plated with a highly conductive gold alloy and are heavily personalized; since the computer age they encode their rods with a digital signature in lieu of using a pawprint or other method of identification.

Arrunian
* Avian race capable of flight. ~4m long, two legs, two wings, walks on talons and "hands" of wings
* Chlorine atmosphere

Coosa
* Tanuki-like species, short, ~1.1m tall. Have very round and bouncy bodies.
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Very arboreal

Geordian
* Medium-sized (~1.7m) felid race, typically have stripes.
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Geordians were the first species to discover how to harness wormhole gates and built a great civilization, but they have since collapsed and are now vassals of the krakun.

Geroo
* Medium-sized (~1.8m) kangaroo-like species, but with canine traits.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Typically wear beaded necklaces and tail rings. Often wear strands on their armbands.
* Geroo Religion and Lore

Hekiru
* Small-sized (~1.2m - 1.5m) vulpine race.
* Sulfur atmosphere
* Largely non-verbal. Native Hekirunese is solely sign language with occasional chirps and chitters. Nevertheless, they can be taught to speak other languages.

Ittriani

Krakun
* Absolutely enormous (~12m to shoulder, ~36m to tail) draconic race that walks on all fours known for being resilient, intelligent, and very very long-lived.
* Sulfur atmosphere

Kyacaotl
* Canine race standing around 1.8 meters in height.
* Chlorine atmopshere
* Wear masks to conceal faces as a cultural religious tradition, those without masks are seen as outcasts or slaves.
* Worship a goddess named Alamanotl, there are smaller children gods of hers which are also revered such as Shino (Wisdom) and Shaolyotl.

Lio
* Tall (~2.2m) leonine race that grows famously long manes.
* Oxygen Atmosphere

Meeri

Mysa
* Very small (~0.4m) mouse-like race, usually living within the slums of Liotec.
* Oxygen atmosphere

Ringel
* Short (~1.4m) lemurian race with long ringed tails.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Known galaxy-wide for being extremely open in regards to sex

Ssarith
* Very tall (~4.5m at rest, ~13.5m head to tailtip) naga-like species.
* Carbon atmosphere
* The "ss" is sharp, and their species name is properly written as ßarith. (you do not actually need to do this)

Sourang
* Long-bodied species (~3.7m tall) largely considered vermin by the krakun, but in actuality fully intelligent and civilized.
* Native atmosphere irrelevant--sourang can adapt their bodies to live in any atmosphere.
* Able to modify their own DNA.

Turek
* Mysterious saurian race (~3.6m tall) known largely by reputation, enemy of the krakun
* Fluorine atmosphere

Ulayavi
*Pangoloid race. Average 1 meter tall, with 1 meter tongue and tail length. Weighty enough that walking requires a crouched position.
*Covered in keratinous scales, often painted either as art or to communicate stories and achievements.
*Tails are long enough in length to allow full coverage when curled and rolling for movement.
*Increased resistance to disorientation as an adaptation for rolling.
*Oxygen breathing. Tolerant to gravity up to 1.5 Galactic Normal.

Umbran
* Ursine species (~3.4m but with great variation in height)
* Oxygen atmosphere

Established Species
Species which have appeared in unpublished works

Katakori
* "Tree squirrel" sapient species.

Montrose
* Moongose-like species. Males are ~1.5m tall, females are ~2.1m tall.
* Carbon atmosphere
* Female-dominated species, though males outnumber females 2-to-1

Polatosha
* "Flying squirrel" sapient species.

Tryonn
* Fuzzy shark species. No set size; size is instead based on their diet, but military service usually pegs adults around ~2m in height
* Chlorine atmosphere
* Tryonn spend the majority of their time in the water and can breathe water while swimming; they prefer this to living on land.

Proposed Species
Fisi

Haske
*sabertooth tiger race.
*medium-sized, long furred, and adapted to live in frigid environments

Matodea
* Lanky mantis species.
* 3-4 meters in height.
* Carbon atmosphere.
* Survive through photosynthesis.

Vrinx
* Not many of them left

Ystryx
* Porcupine race
* 1-2.5 meters in height.
* Quills can grow up to a meter long and are seen as a status symbol in the community

Notes on atmospheric compatibility
For purposes of simplicity, atmospheres settle into a number of "types". While these types are not precisely exact, they are close enough to allow some species to share atmospheres. Most atmospheres have a mixture of oxygen and inert gas (usually nitrogen) in their chemistry. The listed chemical or element is not the raw elemental chemical--it is just the basis by which the rest of the atmosphere is built. For instance, while elemental chlorine is very dangerous for all sorts of reasons, atmospheric chlorine is more-or-less like an overzealous pool cleaner.

Also note these divisions are not the full story. For instance, while sulfuric atmosphere contact is bad for most species, geroo experience it worse than others--while other species will experience burns and hair loss after prolonged contact, geroo will experience this almost immediately. Similarly, while most species can "breathe" oxygen atmospheres for a few minutes, krakun can survive in these atmospheres for multiple hours.

Atmospheres are not the only issue, either. Water from these respective environments are different--the tryonn, being a largely water-based species, also will have similar issues with breathing the water of other atmospheres. For the most part, water from non-compatible atmospheres is poisoned, either minorly or majorly, and would need to be "purified" to be drinkable for species from other atmospheres.

Surgery is utilised to overcome limited atmospheric issues. While there is no specified limit, canon surgery workarounds exist up to the 'Non-Breathable, Full Contact Okay' category for logical reasons of contact issues. Genetic modification technology is not enough to make another species compatible, except explicitly for the sourang, which is intended to be the exception and not the norm. Read the species to learn more. Surgery has so far included preventative to mitigate exposure for 'Non-Breathable, Full Contact Okay', and supplementing for 'Temporarily Survivable' atmosphere, where the atmosphere lacks the required compounds for survival.

Food is another matter entirely. Some amino acids are universal. Some foods, like javea, can be shared across multiple species, but a good bulk of foods are specific for individual species. It is possible to find krakun food that is edible for geroo, but the more incompatible the atmospheres, the rarer the potential food sources get.

* Some atmosphere types proposed but not used yet: Methane, Phosphorous
The vrinx are in development by Jerry Bowman. As of 2026, the race has not been featured nor mentioned in any projects.

Endangered
* Their current census in the known galaxy does not exceed more than 500, and most likely living as house slaves within the Krakun Empire.

Temperature Preferences
* Vrinx evolved from an arctic world, and thus can only live comfortably in cold temperatures.
* Even being in a temperate environment for over a half-hour puts a vrinx at risk of overheating.

Culture & Religion
* Vrinx are natural structural engineers.
** This has posed an annoyance to most krakun contractors, as vrinx will outright refuse to work on a project if it is not up to their own code.
* Vrinx believe in a ghost space ship that exists in the afterlife. It is named the Drifting Ark.

* Bromine atmosphere

* Avian race capable of flight. ~4m long, two legs, two wings, walks on talons and "hands" of wings
* Chlorine atmosphere

Coosa
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Very arboreal

Geordian
* Medium-sized (~1.7m) felid race, typically have stripes.
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Geordians were the first species to discover how to harness wormhole gates and built a great civilization, but they have since collapsed and are now vassals of the krakun.

Geroo
* Medium-sized (~1.8m) kangaroo-like species, but with canine traits.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Typically wear beaded necklaces and tail rings. Often wear strands on their armbands.
* Geroo Religion and Lore

Hekiru
* Small-sized (~1.2m - 1.5m) vulpine race.
* Sulfur atmosphere

* Sulfur atmosphere

Kyacaotl
* Canine race standing around 1.8 meters in height.
* Chlorine atmopshere

* Oxygen Atmosphere

Meeri

Mysa
* Very small (~0.4m) mouse-like race, usually living within the slums of Liotec.
* Oxygen atmosphere

Ringel
* Short (~1.4m) lemurian race with long ringed tails.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Known galaxy-wide for being extremely open in regards to sex

Ssarith
* Very tall (~4.5m at rest, ~13.5m head to tailtip) naga-like species.
* Carbon atmosphere

* Fluorine atmosphere

Writing for Vrinx
When writing for vrinx, please keep the following facts in mind.

Endangered
* Their current population is estimated to be less than 500, and most likely found living as house slaves in the Krakun Empire. Some vrinx might be found in other empires, but these examples are far too low to sustain an efficient gene pool. No matter, the race is unfamiliar in most places.
** A recall notice for the race implemented by Founder of Worlds Technology and enforced by the Slave Licensing Authority prevents vrinx from traversing into space any further. As of result, this has discouraged krakun to make breeding colonies designated for the race.
* The location of the race's native planet and system is unknown. Information collected by Founder of Worlds Technologies suggest that their home planet no longer exists.

Culture & Religion
* Prior to their encounter with the krakun, the race has traversed through space exclusively in a single generation for a millennia. The intent of this ship was to find new planet to colonize. However, due to the length of the voyage, many vrinx considered it as their true home. Eventually, the ship broke down within the borders of the Krakun Empire.
** This attachment resulted in separation anxiety when Founder of Worlds Technologies attempted incorporate them onto gateships.
* Vrinx are natural structural engineers. They will consistently maintain and improve any structure, if available resources permits it.
** Along with the separation anxiety effect, one of their reasons for being recalled were for "frequent stops for maintenance" while on gateships.
* Vrinx believe that their old generation ship exist in the afterlife. This ghost ship is referred to as the Drifting Ark, and boards the deceased for a voyage to heaven.

* Bromine atmosphere

* Chlorine atmosphere

Coosa
* Tanuki-like species, short, ~1.1m tall. Have very round and bouncy bodies.
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Very arboreal

Geordian
* Medium-sized (~1.7m) felid race, typically have stripes.
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Geordians were the first species to discover how to harness wormhole gates and built a great civilization, but they have since collapsed and are now vassals of the krakun.

Geroo
* Medium-sized (~1.8m) kangaroo-like species, but with canine traits.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Typically wear beaded necklaces and tail rings. Often wear strands on their armbands.
* Geroo Religion and Lore

Hekiru
* Small-sized (~1.2m - 1.5m) vulpine race.
* Sulfur atmosphere

* Sulfur atmosphere

Kyacaotl
* Canine race standing around 1.8 meters in height.
* Chlorine atmopshere

* Oxygen Atmosphere

Meeri

Mysa
* Very small (~0.4m) mouse-like race, usually living within the slums of Liotec.
* Oxygen atmosphere

Ringel
* Short (~1.4m) lemurian race with long ringed tails.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Known galaxy-wide for being extremely open in regards to sex

Ssarith
* Very tall (~4.5m at rest, ~13.5m head to tailtip) naga-like species.
* Carbon atmosphere

* Fluorine atmosphere

* Oxygen atmosphere

Katakori
* "Tree squirrel" sapient species.

Montrose
* Moongose-like species. Males are ~1.5m tall, females are ~2.1m tall.
* Carbon atmosphere
* Female-dominated species, though males outnumber females 2-to-1

Polatosha
* "Flying squirrel" sapient species.

Tryonn
* Fuzzy shark species. No set size; size is instead based on their diet, but military service usually pegs adults around ~2m in height
* Chlorine atmosphere
* Tryonn spend the majority of their time in the water and can breathe water while swimming; they prefer this to living on land.

Proposed Species
Fisi

Haske
*sabertooth tiger race.
*medium-sized, long furred, and adapted to live in frigid environments

Ystryx
* Porcupine race
* 1-2.5 meters in height.

The fur is typically blue or grey, but can range from black and white. They have short rounded ears, square shaped noses, large enamel coated incisors—typically bright orange, flat scaly tails—ranges from red, brown and pink colored, and webbed feet.
Their incisors continue to grow throughout their life. They constantly gnaw on hard objects to maintain their length. Their physiology also makes them natural swimmers.

Endangered
* Their population has never been known by any race or empire to exceed over million. The entire species was discovered contained exclusively within a single generation ship. It is speculated that the vessel had traveled through space for centuries before it was spotted near a system occupied by the Krakun Empire.
** This ship broke down shortly after this encounter, due to societal collapse within it. The krakun used this event as an opportunity to enslave any refugees.
* The krakun were unable to unable to obtain the location of their planet of origin. It is suspected that it has been erased from their historic records. This information is considered "lost."
* They have been recalled by the Slave Licensing Authority, preventing them from traversing through space any further. See Culture & Religion below.
* Current population estimate is near 400. All exclusively within the Krakun Empire as house slaves.

Culture & Religion
* To a considerable extent, they are natural structural engineers. However, being contained in a space vessel for centuries not only made it difficult to modification, but they become attached to their own innovations, to the point where are hesitant to adopt new and better technological innovations provided by other species.
** Enslaving the vrinx proved to be difficult for the krakun, as they kept attempting to reverse engineer gateships to their own preferences. Due to numerous safeguards implemented by the krakun, these attempts ended in disaster.
* The political climate was at a turmoil by of their first contact with the krakun. Many working class vrinx were frustrated with the high secrecy upheld by the "elected" officials, which included keeping historical records only for the eyes of the wealthy—if not erased entirely. This led to a large chunk of their own history to be lost. A mutiny broke out shorty after encountering the krakun. This lead to the destruction of the ship.
* Although the original generation ship was salvaged by the krakun, some vrinx believe it spiritually exists in the afterlife. This ghost ship is referred to as the Drifting Ark.

Endangered
Rarity
* As far as any empire has observed, their known population has never exceeded above a million.
* The entire known population was discovered living in a single generation ship that wondered within the boundaries of the Krakun Empire.
** Their ship eventually broke down beyond repair, and relied on the krakun to rescue them.
*** They have since been recalled by the Slave Licensing Authority, preventing them from traversing through space any further. See Culture & Religion for details.
* Their planet of origin is unknown, even among the vrinx. Due to high secrecy kept only by high ranking vrinx officials and changes in leadership over the centuries, their origin—along with the intent on their expedition—is frequently disputed.
* They are now an endangered species.
** Current population estimate is near 400, and all exclusively within the Krakun Empire as house slaves.

Culture & Religion
* To a considerable extent, they are natural structural engineers. However, they believe their own innovations to be sacred, and are stubborn to accept new technological innovations provided by other races.
** The krakun deemed their generation ship as obsolete by their own standards, given the lack of a stutterwarp drive and gateship technology.
*** Enslaving them proved to be difficult for the krakun, as the vrinx kept attempting to reverse engineer gateships to their own preferences. Due to numerous safeguards implement by the krakun, these attempts frequently ended in disaster.
* Although the original generation ship was salvaged by the krakun, the vrinx believe it spiritually exists in the afterlife. It is referred to as the Drifting Arc.

Geroo
* Medium-sized (~1.8m) kangaroo-like species, but with canine traits.

Ittriani

Krakun

Meeri

Mysa
* Very small (~0.4m) mouse-like race, usually living within the slums of Liotec.
* Oxygen atmosphere

Ringel
* Short (~1.4m) lemurian race with long ringed tails.

Anup
* Tall (~3m) canid race with long ears and uniformly short, dark fur.
* Bromine atmosphere

* Chlorine atmosphere

Coosa
Geordian
* Medium-sized (~1.7m) felid race, typically have stripes.
* Ammonia atmosphere
* Geordians were the first species to discover how to harness wormhole gates and built a great civilization, but they have since collapsed and are now vassals of the krakun.

Geroo
* Medium-sized (~1.8m) kangaroo-like species, but with canine traits.
* Oxygen atmosphere
* Typically wear beaded necklaces and tail rings. Often wear strands on their armbands.
* Geroo Religion and Lore

Hekiru
* Small-sized (~1.2m - 1.5m) vulpine race.
* Sulfur atmosphere
* Largely non-verbal. Native Hekirunese is solely sign language with occasional chirps and chitters. Nevertheless, they can be taught to speak other languages.

Ittriani

Krakun
* Canine race standing around 1.8 meters in height.
* Chlorine atmopshere

* Oxygen Atmosphere

Meeri

Mysa
* Very small (~0.4m) mouse-like race, usually living within the slums of Liotec.
* Oxygen atmosphere

Ringel
* Short (~1.4m) lemurian race with long ringed tails.
* The "ss" is sharp, and their species name is properly written as ßarith.

Sourang
* Long-bodied species (~3.7m tall) largely considered vermin by the krakun, but in actuality fully intelligent and civilized.
* Native atmosphere irrelevant--sourang can adapt their bodies to live in any atmosphere.
* Able to modify their own DNA.

Turek
